Using this site

The NDIS Trust Index is a free, public reference site published by RefDat. By using it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time, and the date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.

What the scores are, and what they are not

Every score and band on this site is our independent assessment, calculated from publicly available data using a consistent, documented method. Scores are an opinion based on facts on the public record. They are not a statement that any provider has done anything wrong, and they are not a measure of the quality of care a provider delivers.

A low score does not mean a provider is dishonest or unsafe. It usually means something about a provider's public profile is thin, messy, or out of date. A high score does not guarantee a good experience. It means the public-facing data checks out. The full method, including every component, weight, and penalty, is set out on our methodology page.

No warranty and no advice

We work to keep the data accurate and current, but we make no warranty that it is complete, error-free, or up to date. Government records change, and there is sometimes a lag before those changes reach us. The information here is general in nature and is not legal, financial, medical, or professional advice.

Nothing on this site should be the sole basis for choosing or rejecting a provider. Always verify details directly with the provider and with official sources such as the NDIS and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or decision made in reliance on this site.

Corrections and right of reply

If you are a provider and believe your record is wrong, you can ask us to review it. Email admin@refdat.com with your business name and ABN and tell us what you believe is incorrect. We review every request. See the contact page for details.

Acceptable use

You may read, link to, cite, and share pages from this site freely, including for commercial and research use. You may not scrape the site at scale, republish large portions of the dataset as your own, attempt to disrupt or overload the service, or use the content to harass any provider or individual. Automated bulk access is not permitted.

Data sources and attribution

The underlying records are drawn from publicly available government sources under Australian open data policy, including the NDIS Provider Register, the Australian Business Register, and the NDIS Commission's published compliance actions. The Trust Index scoring, presentation, and original analysis are the work of RefDat. This is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Australian Government, the NDIS, or the NDIS Commission.
