Check an NDIS provider's public record
Use sample Verification Profiles now, or request a manual ABN check while the live ABR lookup endpoint is being connected. The profile format is built for registered and unregistered providers, without treating registration as a quality signal.
This public page is a static Verification Hub shell with real sample profiles. New live ABR lookups are not enabled yet because the ABR access GUID and same-origin endpoint are still pending. Manual checks use the same public-source framework and record the data date in the response.

What we check
Sample profiles and manual checks use the same set of publicly available data sources.
- Australian Business Register. ABN status, GST registration, entity type, ASIC company number, and trading start date. Source: ABR Web Services or manual ABR lookup until the API endpoint is live.
- NDIS Commission register. Is this provider Commission-registered? Updated weekly from the Commission's published provider register.
- NDIS Commission compliance actions. Banning orders, registration revocations, suspensions, enforceable undertakings, compliance notices. Severity-tiered with time decay per our methodology.
- ASIC banned persons. For sole-trader providers, we check the entity name against the ASIC Banned and Disqualified Persons register. Company director cross-references will be added when ASIC director data integration ships.
What we don't claim
A Verification Profile is a transparency check using public data. It is not an endorsement, a recommendation, or a quality rating.
We do not claim to know whether a provider currently has capacity, whether their services suit any individual participant, what they charge, or whether other participants have been satisfied with their work. Always speak directly with any provider you are considering, ask for credentials and insurance evidence, and where relevant consult your support coordinator.
About registered and unregistered providers
Most NDIS providers operate without Commission registration, and that is a legitimate operating choice. Around 94 percent of NDIS participants have plan-managed or self-managed funding and can use any provider with an ABN. NDIS Commission registration is mainly relevant if a provider wants to serve participants whose plans are NDIA-managed.
Our Trust Index rankings cover Commission-registered providers. Verification Profiles are the parallel format for providers not on the Commission register, using factual checks where data is available.

Common questions
My provider is not in your results. Are they dodgy?
Most NDIS providers are not Commission-registered, and registration is not required to serve plan-managed or self-managed participants. Not appearing in our Trust Index rankings does not imply anything negative. Use the Verification Hub sample/manual workflow here to check a provider, registered or not.
What does each band mean?
Verified: multiple independent positive signals, no concerning flags. Verifiable: the entity exists with adequate transparency. Limited Info: the entity exists but the public record is thin, ask the provider for credentials. Concerning: documented misconduct or active regulatory action found. Full definitions on our methodology page.
How current is the data?
Sample profiles use the fixture data shipped with this page. Manual checks cite the date each public source was checked. Live ABR caching is planned once ABR access and the same-origin endpoint are connected.
What if I think a Verification Profile is wrong?
If you are the provider and you would like to correct or add to your Verification Profile, email admin@refdat.com with your ABN and what needs updating. We do not edit factual data sourced from the ABR or the NDIS Commission directly. Corrections to those upstream records should be made via the ABR or the Commission.
Why don't you check insurance, AHPRA, or worker screening?
AHPRA cross-referencing is on the roadmap for clinical providers. Insurance evidence and Worker Screening Check status are not currently in our automated pipeline. The Verification Hub will surface these checks as they become available. In the meantime, ask the provider directly for evidence of their professional registration and insurances.
